Crowns & Veneers
Porcelain crowns and veneers can change your smile.
We are proud to offer our patients Crowns In the same Day
We don’t all have the time in our schedules to sit through multiple dental visits, even when we need restorative care. For restoring smiles in a timely and highly effective way, the answer lies in 3Shape digital technology. By offering same-day dentistry, we allow our patients to receive the highest quality, natural looking crowns in just one visit.
Advantages of Same Day Crowns
- No need to wear a temporary crown
- No lengthy waiting on dental labs
- No more goopy impressions – especially for those with high gag reflex
- Digitally enhanced accuracy and precision
- Less time spent in the dentist’s chair
- You will experience virtually no discomfort and/or sensitivity afterwards
How Does 3Shape One Day Crowns Work?
We use cutting edge CAD/CAM technology to generate high-quality 3D images of your tooth in just seconds. There is no need for messy impressions or tedious waiting for the mold of your teeth to be prepared. From these dynamic digital images, we are able to personalize your ideal crown and color-match it to your existing teeth for a seamlessly beautiful smile. That design will be sent to a milling unit to craft and produce your new crown in-office while you wait.
Are There Different Types of Veneers?
There are two types of veneers:
- Composite Veneers: Composite, or direct veneers, are usually performed in a single visit to Dr. Babik. He applies a bond and enamel directly to the tooth’s surface.
Porcelain Veneers: Porcelain, or indirect veneers, are a very thin porcelain material. Unlike our in-house one day crowns, usually porcelain veneers require two visits. A dental laboratory creates the final tooth restoration piece.
As we age, many of us find ourselves with teeth that are no longer structurally sound. Root canals, lost fillings, decay below a filling, large amalgam (silver) fillings, chipping and cracking of the enamel are all things that can lead to large-scale defects in a tooth’s surface. Grinding your teeth, an improper bite and age can all be contributing factors in the wearing down, cracking or breakage of your teeth. Dental crowns and/or cover the visible surface of your affected tooth and add strength, durability and tooth stability.
Advantages of Veneers:
Porcelain veneers are common in creating smile makeovers. With porcelain veneers, you can have the smile of your dreams in a very short period of time. They brighten dark teeth, and they are strong and durable. There is no additional maintenance other than your regular flossing and brushing, and regular check-ups.
Disadvantages of Veneers:
Getting used to veneers is an adjustment, It can take a week or two to become accustomed to teeth that look and feel different.
Some people have minor sensitivity while wearing the temporary veneers. Also, It is not uncommon to experience a slight difference in speech, usually pronouncing the “s” and “f” sounds. Dr. Babik will work with you to correct this through making minor adjustments to the veneers.
Lastly, If you suffer from Bruxism (clinching or grinding your teeth), veneers can be damaged, however Dr. Babik can protect your veneers by making a custom fitting comfortable mouth guard to wear at night.

Dr. Babik is a phenomenal dental professional. I chipped a tooth late Friday night and called his office and left a message about my dilemma and not only did he call me back but he and a staff met me in the office on a Saturday morning to repair my tooth so I could complete my speaking engagement on Sunday morning. His office staff especially his sister and brother enhance their office operations beyond the realms of greatness. Dr. Babik has an incredible chair side manner that puts the most anxious patient at ease.
